2024 Christmas Retreat : Glory in Heaven, Peace on Earth

As the year draws to a close, YEF Headquarters reflects on the Christmas retreat held in December 2024. This retreat was not merely a festive gathering but a sacred opportunity for spiritual growth and reflection, as participants delved deeply into the true meaning of Christmas. Beyond the decorations, gifts, and celebrations, the retreat centered on the coming of Christ and the gift of salvation He brings to each of us.

This year’s retreat radiated a sense of grace that touched every aspect of the experience. From Bible studies and sermons to fellowship and casual moments shared over meals, participants found themselves in a sacred space to seek a closer relationship with Christ. YEF’s hope for all attendees, students and staff alike, is that they continue to grow in their understanding of Christ’s love and deepen their personal relationship with Him, seeking His guidance for their lives.

Many students shared moving reflections, summarizing profound realizations about God’s love and their spiritual journeys. One participant reflected on how Christ’s sacrifice reveals the true meaning of unconditional love, reminding them that God’s care brings joy and peace beyond worldly measures. Another student expressed how the retreat challenged their tendency to view God through a limited, self-centered lens, inspiring them to surrender to His greater plan and purpose.

Participants also shared how the retreat deepened their understanding of Christmas, emphasizing not just the joy of Christ’s birth but also His life, death, and resurrection. One attendee noted how Christ’s humility and suffering provide a model for showing love and kindness to others, particularly those in less fortunate circumstances.

The retreat also provided an opportunity to reflect on the paradox of Christmas: how the Messiah came in humility, contrary to the expectations of many. This perspective allowed participants to ponder the ways in which Christ’s humble birth continues to shape our understanding of love, sacrifice, and grace.

As YEF reflects on this retreat, there is an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the deep spiritual growth witnessed among attendees. The hope is that these reflections will continue to shape their lives as they move into the new year. The retreat was not only a time of spiritual renewal but also a reminder of God’s incredible love and the eternal life offered through Jesus Christ.

YEF continues to pray for all who attended the retreat, that they may grow in their faith and relationship with Christ. May this retreat serve as a source for ongoing spiritual reflection, and may all who participated carry with them the joy, peace, and love of Christ into the days ahead.
