Yesterday, YEF HQ studied together with Bro. Asa the importance of the commandment of God and how it aids us on the path of faith. Last week, after studying the root of sin, he was able to gain an even deeper understanding of sin and how God protects from sinfulness.
He shared,
“We discussed the nature of sin after talking about the root of sin. Sin is an abomination to the Lord, and we as humans are all sinners by default because of the fall of man caused by Eve eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Because of this, we are living in a world where Satan is constantly tempting us to commit sin in our lives and inject his wicked ways into this world. As believers, we must deny ourselves the ways of this wicked world and keep the Lord’s Commandments in our lives daily to keep our spiritual muscles strong and be discerning of everything in our lives.
The greatest commandment we must keep is to Love the lord with all our heart, soul, body, and mind. This means that we are to selflessly serve the Lord in everything we do in our lives; how can we better our understanding of how to be servants to the Lord? We must read the word and understand the attitude that Jesus had, and come to understand our own shortcomings in God’s perfect ways. This is a stark contrast to what the world seems as Love, which is generally perceived as niceness, agreeableness, acceptance of all things whether morally right or wrong and not holding each other accountable for falling into the sin and evil ways of this world.
It is important to not only remember the greatest commandment and keep it to ourselves but to go out into the world and show love to others by holding them accountable for living in a false ideology of righteousness. We must be the Salt of the earth and avoid conforming to the pattern of this world. Amen”
He has begun onsite evangelism with a local minister on the University of Central Florida (UCF) campus to start practicing the things he’s learned and gain more passion for the mission. Please continue to pray for his growth and overall closeness with God.
