With the hope to continue growing the students on campus, YEF Orlando was able to have one newcomer join the study. It was Zach’s brother who came to join the study for the first time. He is a dual enrollment student at a near by college called Valencia. They both commute from home which is one hour away.
In this time, they went over the study in Romans 1, the introduction of Paul. Tamera, Lanelle, Zach, and his brother joined in this time. They came to reflect upon the heart of Apostle Paul who wrote this letter with tears and prayer in order that the people of Rome may come to grow well in their faith.
Some students shared their reflections below,
Zach’s reflection: It applies to me because it tells me how I should live my life. It says that the righteous man lives by faith. So in order to live for Christ I have to live by faith. Also, it says that God gave me salvation through faith as a gift. I don’t deserve anything from God, but he gave us salvation through faith anyways. Also, Jesus was given as the perfect sacrifice for us because we can’t cover our own sins.
Zach’s Brother (Zaidin’s) reflection: The message made me reflect and think about my own faith. I like to believe that my faith is unshakeable and will always be unshakeable. The message talked about how you have salvation through faith. Faith seems like an easy concept, but when you think about how it all works it becomes complicated.Β Faith is having complete trust is someone or something. I want faith like a child more than anything. Faith like a child is having complete faith about something and not think twice. It is like how you are a child and you trust that your parents know what it best no matter what. Faith is the backbone to your life. It is the gateway to heaven.
They hope to open up the way to plan more events on campus and unite well with the students in order that they may also continue growing in their faith. Students share abundant grace and also want to know more about the fellowship so they talked with the students for some time after the study. With this, they can see that students want to participate in fellowship with them. From this Friday, they hope to start in order for students to be more connected and to help open the door for more students to join the ministry activities.
