On May 18, 2025, members of Youth Evangelical Fellowship Ethiopia attended and actively participated in the Sunday service at Hawassa Emmanuel Church. The gathering was graced by a total of four YEF Ethiopia members who all contributed to and received the blessings of the occasion.
Brother Selemon led the service with heartfelt prayers, setting a reverent tone and giving all the things going to happen with the faithful hand of God. Brother Samuel took time and led praise and worship, leading the congregation in uplifting songs that stirred hearts toward God.
The sermon, centered on the parable of the minas from the book of Luke 19:15-27, carried an important and transformative message. It emphasized the importance of faithful stewardship of God-given gifts, time, and opportunities. The preacher encouraged believers to invest their talents for God’s glory, contrasting the faithful servants who multiplied their minas with the one who hid his out of fear. The message also focused on the seriousness of rejecting Christ’s lordship, urging attendees to recognize Jesus not only as Savior but also as King. The congregation was called to boldly engage in God’s advancing Kingdom.
Following the sermon, members reflected on the grace they received. Brother Zecarias shared how the message awakened him to the significance of recognizing and using the gifts God has entrusted to him. He realized that the Lord would one day call him to account for these gifts and opportunities.
Sister Dagim reflected on how the sermon contrasted with the messages she often heard in her previous church, which focused on worldly concerns. She expressed gratitude for the sermon’s eternal perspective, which encouraged her to live fruitfully and purposefully with the gifts God has given her.
The service concluded with a call to faithfulness, leaving attendees inspired by the promise of joy in the Master’s presence. The gathering was an indicator of the grace of God, strengthening the faith and commitment of all who participated.
