YEF 2025 Christmas Retreat: A Time of Reflection, Worship, and Renewal

From December 23–25, 2025, YEF joyfully hosted its annual Christmas Retreat, bringing together members, co-workers, and new friends for a weekend of worship, Bible study, fellowship, and spiritual reflection centered on the miracle of Christ’s birth.

The retreat began with a reverent worship service, exploring the mystery of the Incarnation through passages from John and Matthew. Pastor Rani highlighted the journey of the Magi, emphasizing the contrast between those who recognized Jesus as the true King and those who remained spiritually unaware. She encouraged participants to approach Christmas with gratitude and humility, reflecting on God’s grace that allows hearts to receive the Light of the world. The opening service also included meaningful moments of prayer, worship songs, and quiet reflection, setting a thoughtful tone for the days ahead.

Throughout the weekend, participants engaged in interactive and creative activities designed to foster connection and spiritual growth. Icebreakers, games, and symbolic exercises such as a “Light versus Darkness” activity encouraged discernment, teamwork, and reflection on biblical truths. A gingerbread house-building competition and a Christian edition of “Imposter” brought joy, laughter, and fellowship, balancing fun with thoughtful engagement.

Bible studies were a central part of the retreat, led by Pastors Danielle, Rani, and Bri’Daija. Sessions explored the birth of Jesus, the gifts of the Magi, the humility of the manger, and the prophetic fulfillment of God’s promises. Participants reflected on themes such as obedience, faith, humility, and discernment between true and false kingship. Special attention was given to John the Baptist’s role in preparing the way for Christ, highlighting God’s use of ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary purposes. Discussions encouraged attendees to live out their faith with intentionality, embracing their own roles as witnesses to God’s truth and love.

Worship and prayer were interwoven throughout the retreat, with participants lifting hearts in praise, sharing reflections, and receiving encouragement and clarity about their spiritual journeys. Meals and fellowship provided additional opportunities to strengthen community, as participants shared stories, insights, and laughter, forming bonds that reflected the love and unity of Christ.

The retreat concluded with a powerful closing service led by Pastor Danielle White, focused on the theme “The Word Became Flesh and Dwelt Among Us.” Through Scripture readings, prayer, and worship, attendees were reminded that the true gift of Christmas is not material, but the eternal life offered through Jesus Christ. The weekend ended with a shared meal and a screening of the film David, reinforcing the retreat’s themes of faith, obedience, and God’s purpose.

Overall, the 2025 YEF Christmas Retreat was a time of spiritual renewal, thoughtful reflection, and joyful fellowship. Participants left encouraged, inspired, and reminded of the true meaning of Christmas—the gift of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, dwelling among us.
