From Saturday to Sunday, YEF Orlando and members from across Florida gathered together for a Pentecost Retreat centered on the Holy Spirit, prayer, discipleship, and the life of the early church. Throughout the weekend, participants spent time in worship, Bible study, fellowship, reflection, and prayer while exploring the significance of Pentecost and its relevance for believers today.
The retreat opened with a study of Acts 2, reflecting on the coming of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the Christian church. Throughout the day, participants continued with a series of Bible studies focusing on the promise of the Holy Spirit, Godโs guidance in the lives of believers, and the role of prayer and faith in the Christian life. Additional studies explored the community life of the early church and how believers supported, encouraged, and worshiped together after Pentecost.
Between sessions, participants shared meals, fellowship, discussion, and group activities that helped strengthen relationships and build a greater sense of community. The day concluded with a time of guided prayer, personal reflection, and worship as attendees considered how they could apply the lessons of Pentecost in their daily lives.
Several students and guests also participated in the retreat, both in person and online. The fellowship was encouraged by their participation and continues praying that those who attended may continue growing in faith, developing a deeper understanding of Scripture, and experiencing the encouragement that comes through Christian community.
The second day of the retreat focused entirely on Pentecost and the work of the Holy Spirit. Through studies based on Acts 1 and 2, participants reflected on Godโs promise to pour out His Spirit and the birth of the church as a community united in faith, worship, and mission. The message emphasized the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding, strengthening, and transforming believers, while reminding participants that God continues to work through His people today.
Participants also reflected on how Pentecost demonstrates God’s desire to reach people from every background and nation. Through the Holy Spirit, believers are empowered to live with hope, serve others, grow in faith, and participate in the ongoing mission of sharing the Gospel with the world.
The retreat concluded with a time of prayer, fellowship, and reflection before participants enjoyed outdoor activities together. Many shared that the weekend provided encouragement, spiritual renewal, and a deeper appreciation for the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church.
YEF Orlando gives thanks for everyone who participated in the retreat and continues praying that the lessons learned through worship, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship will continue bearing fruit in the lives of those who attended. The fellowship also hopes that more students and young adults may have opportunities to experience spiritual growth, meaningful community, and a deeper understanding of God’s love through future gatherings and ministry activities.
