We can receive a lot of grace, especially when looking into the messages of John 13-19, as they impart valuable spiritual lessons on the meaning of suffering.

Why do we need to understand what suffering is? Because, as strange as it can sound, suffering is love. Oftentimes in life, we have a choice. We can choose the easy way or we can choose to suffer. Either way, suffering will come in life whether you choose it or not, but many times, it can be meaningless. However, there is meaningful suffering. There are many stories so told and untold of parents suffering for their children’s sake, stories of one person suffering for the many; because of genuine, unconditional love.
This is the story of Christ. It’s when we know this love, we can know eternal life. Life through love is eternal life. Paul said “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
