Many of our bible study students around the world are taking a big step in their commitment to God. Not only are they participating in a bible study to understand who God is, but they are becoming members. Usually, people shy away from becoming members, due to false preconceptions of what a member of a church really signifies.
In 1 Corinthians 12:27, it states, “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” In the bible being a member is more than just being a part of a group. It is being a part of a body. Some people are the hands, while others are the eye. We cannot disregard each other but work in harmony to complete the work of God.
We need to recognize our need for a church community. We cannot be separated from each other but must stay connected. Why? Because it allows our faith to grow and allows our spiritual state to be protected.
