YEF HQ delivered a powerful sermon focusing on the establishment of the Kingdom of God and the believer’s commission to share the Gospel and offer salvation. In Matthew 6:9-10, Jesus teaches His disciples to pray: โOur Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.โ This prayer highlights two fundamental purposes: glorifying Godโs name and living for His kingdom.
Pastor Danielle White emphasized that the phrase “Thy kingdom come” is not merely a desire but a calling for believers to participate in the establishing of God’s kingdom. To understand the kingdom’s nature, the congregation explored Matthew 13, which contains seven parables revealing the kingdom’s essence.
The parables offer profound insights into Godโs nature and the presence of evil. For instance, the Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the Weeds address why a good God allows evil, emphasizing that evil arises from an enemy’s actions and that God is not its creator. This perspective provides hope that evil is temporary and divine judgment will prevail.
The Parable of theMustard Seed illustrates that even the smallest beginnings can lead to significant growth, while the Parable of the Leaven depicts how the kingdom subtly transforms the world, emphasizing both quantitative and qualitative change.
Additionally, the Hidden Treasure, Pearl, and Net parables convey the kingdom’s immense value and the sacrifices necessary for its pursuit. The Hidden Treasure underscores the need to give up everything for the kingdom, while the Pearl highlights its incomparable worth. The Net parable illustrates the responsibility of discernment inherent in faith.
Overall, these seven parables demonstrate that the Kingdom of God may start small but lead to profound change, emphasizing commitment, transformation, and individual roles in God’s plan. Believers are encouraged to confidently pursue their mission, trusting that the kingdom will manifest through their actions and faith, echoing the prayer: “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
After this message, there was joyful fellowship and meditation over the message. Many visitors and members participated in this joyful exchange of grace over a provided meal. Through this, members were able to come to a deeper understanding of their position and commission.
