The 2025 YEF UCF & SSC Summer Retreat brought together students and members for a time of deep reflection, powerful Bible studies, and a renewed commitment to their walk with Christ. Held with the purpose of nurturing spiritual growth and unity, the retreat served as a vital time of encountering God’s Word and being transformed by it.
Throughout the retreat, participants engaged in rich Bible studies covering themes from the Book of Exodus—spanning topics such as spiritual renewal, the Christian mindset, the sovereignty of God, and the power of love. Below are heartfelt reflections from several attendees who were touched by the messages:
Emmanuel reflected on the need to reshape and renew the mind in faith, much like Moses during his time in Midian. “We are trained in survival by the world,” he shared, “but to follow God, we must abandon that logic and embrace meekness and holiness.” He was moved by the call to discern deeply—to distinguish between time, place, people, and God’s purpose.
Tamara was reminded of God’s unchanging love and faithful provision. She highlighted the image of the cloud by day and fire by night as symbols of God’s intimate care. “Even in trials, God gives us what we need. He wants the best for us and leads us to cry out to Him, not run away.”
Noah saw in the message a clear model for daily Christian life. “The manna and quail taught me the rhythm of walking with God—starting the day with devotion and ending with reflection. Without it, we walk a longer, harder road.”
Rachel emphasized God’s exclusivity and faithfulness. “God alone deserves the top place in our hearts. He is everything we are looking for. He offers us peace and leads us back with love, not condemnation.”
Asa found deep insight in the message about the law and its place in the life of a believer. “It’s not just about knowing Scripture,” he said, “but applying it with wisdom. Like Jethro, we need spiritual discernment that comes from wholehearted understanding.”
Heeyeon expressed her desire to grow deeper in understanding Christ’s love and the theological richness found in Exodus. “From the plagues to the principles of salvation, the book [Exodus] is filled with meaning. I’m grateful to hear these truths from such a young age.”
This retreat served not only as a time of spiritual teaching but also of spiritual awakening. Attendees left with a stronger sense of mission and a deeper desire to live according to God’s Word.
Please continue to pray for all who participated in the YEF UCF & SSC Summer Retreat. May the seeds of grace planted during this time bear lasting fruit as they continue to grow in faith and commit their lives to the Great Commission.
