YEF Macau Is Developing Its Campus Fellowship Under the Collaboration of UMSUCF

The University of Macau (UM) is the largest public university in Macau (More than 60% students are from mainland China)Β  and maintains close ties and cooperation with the mainland government and universities. As a result, regulations regarding evangelism and gatherings on campus have been tightened. Apart from UMSUCF-the only officially recognized Christian fellowship under the university’s student union-no other Christian organizations are permitted to evangelize or hold fellowship gatherings on campus.

Facing these challenges, Minister Agnes prayed fervently, thank God for answering her prayers and opening a new path for YEF through holding joint prayer meetings among different fellowships and churches at the University of Macau, as well as by participating in UMSUCF’s new executive committee election.

First, through organizing a joint prayer meeting at the University of Macau, YEF came into contact with Helen (Summer), a staff of the Macau Student Evangelistic Fellowship (FCS), which has long supported UMSUCF. God worked through her, and she suggested that YEF and UMSUCF could collaborate by holding fellowship gatherings together at UMSUCF’s venue, taking turns leading the preaching, Bible studies and discussions.

Agnes also attended the new executive committee election of UMSUCF and met the five newly elected members. She was also grateful for the opportunity to meet with Pastor Lo, the director of FCS, to confirm our collaborative relationship. He mentioned that Christians currently make up less than 1% of Macau’s population and expressed hope that more students would join UMSUCF gatherings. He also welcomed support from other fellowships to help UMSUCF grow and suggested further meetings to discuss collaboration.

Give thanks and praise to God for His wonderful works and good purposes. Also ask for your prayers-that YEF may follow God’s will, and that He may protect and guide both sides in this cooperation, so that more precious souls may be brought to the Lord.
